TEA TIME
Zhongniao’s illustration is a subtle play on the quality of the tea and the balanced visual shape.  A tea cleaning brush, a teacup, a spoon, three cherries, a ring, and other strange-shaped stones have somehow made such balancing toy blocks in this image credible.
Instead of directing showing a tea house illustration, Artist Wuyang Yu put the tea house scene inside a teacup, adding movement to the static image. As if you opened the teacup lid, you see a whole serene world of the tea house environment, where you can keep calm and sip the tea.
Imagine yourself soaking in the smell of fresh flavored green tea, and ponder the question, what is the meaning of life? That is the exact illustration of Wuyang Yu’s Si Wu Ke(肆伍客). Immerse yourself in the calmness and you will find peace and love coming out from the tiny teapot.
Aki Jiang was commissioned by 奈雪的茶, a popular tea and pastry brand, to create the following series of illustrations for Chinese New Year’s limited paper cups as a mini gallery show to attract Gen-Z.
Zaoyu Lin’s creative illustration possesses the quality of Miyazaki Hayao’s animation. It is playful, with the personification of cute green dragons and the character enjoying a tea hot spring inside a mug. Maybe the character is the artist herself?
Thank you for watching!
